How easy did you find breast feeding 2nd time round??

I'm pregnant with my second baby.

I breast fed DS successfully for several months, but it was tough to start with -sore nipples, incorrect latch, etc etc.

I'd like to think that I know what I'm doing a bit more this time, but is it still likely to be tough to begin with??

With 1st baby I got mastitis after 3 weeks.
With 2nd baby I got mastitis after 1 week.
With 3rd baby mastitis struck at 2 years. I found the first few weeks very hard every time. Painful, problematic, ouch ouch ouch. But after that it was easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Definitely easier. You have more confindence having done it before. And I knew to ignore all the 'advice' from well meaning relatives about timing/routines of feeds. I totally ignored the clock and it was much easier on baby and me.

Much easier

But have to say that I had much more support and much better circumstances, and a much hungrier easy to feed baby

OK, but if I express am I not just going to stimulate more supply? my boobs are still about to explode! do I just express enough to relieve the pressure? PLEASE HELP!

scampmum - yes, just do enough to make you feel comfy............

you should settle in a few days

the more engorged you are the harder it will be for lo to latch
