Loveliest BF moment yet...just wanted to share :)

My DS is 8mo and teething. He's off his food, grizzly, red cheeks and runny nose. He didn't eat much of his lunch this afternoon, so we snuggled up on the sofa and he had a lovely long breastfeed instead.

He fell asleep after a while, but I have lots to do today (going back to work on Monday) and needed to put him in his cot. I stood up, thinking he would pop off, but he clung on like a little baby monkey and carried on feeding in his sleep

I managed to climb over the stairgate, walk along the hall and up the stairs, into his nursery and put him down in his cot, all without a break in his feeding. He unlatched (reluctantly) as I moved my arm from under his head and covered him with a blanket, and I panicked a bit thinking he'd wake up - but he just gave a happy sigh and started snoring

I've never really managed to feed him anywhere without the aid of a cushion or an awkwardly bent knee, so it was a really lovely little moment. He's still asleep now!

Your post made me smile too

little monkey moo. mine is 9 weeks and he's a little guzzler. hope he is still feeding at 8 months too. by the way, how many feeds does he have at 7 months and 8 months? (breast feeds, that is) I am wondering when to go bac k to work but i want to keep breastfeeding as much as i can.

ExtraFancy · 19/04/2008 14:38

Cosima he usually has 3 in the day and one or two at night - first thing in the morning, about 4pm, and just before bed (7pm-ish).

He goes to nursery two days a week, and doesn't have any milk while he's there (won't take a bottle), but he eats well so doesn't seem to miss it. He used to BF about every 3 hours, but since weaning (at 6 months) has slowly dropped most of his daytime feeds.

Ahhh, 9 weeks! Almost enough to make me want another one

thanks, extrafancy, 9 weeks is enough to make me think it is impossible to have another one! How on earth are you supposed to be putting one to bed and demand feeding a new one? It cannot be done, i simply can't believe it!

Ahh, that is so lovely. We had one today too. We had taken DS (7 months) out for a walk with the dog and he was starving when we got back. When he went onto boob no.2 he got a fit of the giggles for no apparent reason and just laughed and laughed - with boob still in his mouth. It had us in stitches
