Going to turkey on sunday . (YAYYYY!!!)
im gona take all dd's food with me as dont want her to catch any bugs etc. Sooooooo if i got a bug would it affect her?? and should i bf more during the day because of heat? or just give her more water / juice.
She will take a bottle if needed.

thanx xx

Just bf her, it acts as a thirst quencher when needed. and saves sterilising stuff. Any bug affecting you she is likely to have been exposed to at same time as you or thorugh kissing etc, breastmilk has good antibodies in it to help her fight off bugs. Go for it. Don't forget the sun cream!

BF her on demand (how old is she?). You don't need to give water or juice, but you can if you like. If she's under 6m, I wouldn't bother, just stick with bfing, then you're not worrying about sterilising / getting safe water. If you get a bug, she will get some protection from bfing.

I have taken both DS1 & 2 abroad under 6m. Both exclusively bf, and didn't require any extra fluids other than bm.

Have a nice time! Where are you going?

As Slur says, remember sun cream (factor 50+ sunblock). UV sunsuits are a godsend. Don't forget hats too - the legionnaire ones which match the suits are great.

thank you!!
shes 7 months laura, but tbh she is still bf whenever she wants!
Got the factor 50, and the suit thing with hat! and about 8 more hats!!

thanks again.

You'll be fine then

I took ds to st lucia when he was 4 months old and bf him on demand there, it was great cos I could do it anywhere and it was so convenient. I even sat on the beach and fed him (under a sunshade of course!) which was lovely cos I imagine making up bottles would be a 'mare on a beach! He did feed a bit more often, just make sure you're drinking enough water (keep an eye on your pee, make sure it's nice and pale, that way you know you're getting it right!) Have a lovely holiday !!

Eating natural yoghurt every day on holiday can help keep the nasty stomach bugs away.

Have a good holiday!
