Can I extend time between feeds

Baby is 5 weeks old and has fed every hour pretty much since we got home from the hospital, except the early days when she would cluster feed all night
She is gaining plenty of weight and
I thought my supply should be established by now, I expected feeding to start to slow down after a month but there’s no sign of that. Can I stretch the time between feeds? I’m exhausted from being up all night and it makes it difficult to do things and get out the house during the day with my older dc because I have to stop to feed all the time

@Velvetbee she screams and screams though when she decides she wants to feed. And that happens every hour, no matter how long I feed her for, or breast compressions or anything like that. I don’t know how to make that fit? Genuinely your routine sounds great so any tips would be great

Don't forget that babies nurse for a whole host of reasons, not just hunger.

And as it's been so hot recently I'd expect baby to feed more often because of that.

5 weeks is still very very tiny.

I would try the breast compressions and switching breasts during a feed, tickling feet and waking baby to keep them alert during feeds and definitely get latch and tongue-tie checked.

Your supply will start to regulate by 12w.

In the meantime time, to get more sleep, how do you feel about co-sleeping? It's not for everyone but it's a great way to get a few more zzzz in.

Congratulations on your newborn 🥰

Just to add on the co sleeping thing I can't sleep overnight with DD in the bed I just don't relax enough. However from about 6am I get another 2-3 hours by bringing her on to the bed and napping with her..I feed lying down at the same time so she can essentially 'help herself' it's made a huge difference
