Fidget Bum Feedings

Hello all,

First post here, so forgive my lack of know how on abbreviations yet. Also my lengthy post!

Mainly looking to relate to others with lived experience, any reassurances given that its all normal and any helpful advice welcome.

OK so the long and the short of it is, my baby (coming up 6 months) is an absolute fidget bum.
Honestly, it drives me absolutely mad because it makes feeding so unpleasant, it's rarely an enjoyable experience.
Whether it's breastfeeding, bottle feeding and now actual food, he will not relax! At times I almost have to restrain him (hold arms down).

To give a bit of background, it took me 4 long months to get to the point where I could actually breastfeed without pain (tongue tie - whole other story). So we reached a point of breastfeeding right at that wonderful distracted age and it's been so far from the dream I'd anticipated.

Whether bottle or breast, little one shakes his head from side to side (teat comes our/nipple comes out over and over), he hits his arms about, grabs the bottle or knocks it out of my hand constantly. When breast feeding he kicks or he wriggles. Yanks the boob around all over the place and tries to pull my nipple further away than it was ever meant to go.
With bottle feeding now, he has started pushing himself up and down with his feet.
Solids, he kicks and grabs the spoon. Makes these angry grunting/demanding sounds and if I don't get the next spoon in ASAP he cries instantly. Oh and he has also done the same (cry) any time a bottle is over, or when I used to burp him inbetween for as long as I can remember, probably from a few weeks old.

So does anyone else struggle with this kind of craziness every meal time or am I the only one going slowly but surely bonkers.
