12 week old refusing bottle

Hi there. My 12 week old little girl has started refusing her bottle. Previously she would be fine taking a bottle from my partner and we got into a routine of him either giving her the last feed at 9pm and on the weekends a morning feed so I could get a break however recently she is refusing to take the bottle, crying everytime he tries. I have been able to step in by giving her my breast and then replacing it with the bottle which she does then take so I don’t think it’s an issue with the actual bottle or trapped wind. Any ideas how we can get her to take the bottle again?

I couldn't bottle feed (baby refused in all ways at every try) but could it be the teat size needs increasing?

I’m not sure because she takes the bottle from me if I give her the breast first and then quickly replace the nipple with the bottle. She doesn’t seem to resist then.

Both of mine were bottle refusers. Even if baby has taken a bottle for a while they can suddenly start to show a clear preference for either the bottle or you.

We had more success with cup feeding.

What shall I do about going out on Saturday night? I guess if she’s hungry enough she will take it presumably?

Try and get dh to give her bottle before then. If he is calm and you're nowhere in sight thrn I think baby will take bottle.

We have been doing that but she screams the house down! My friend said to go longer between her feed before the bottle so she gets hungry for it. Will try that

She might be having some sort of separtion anxiety? If you are her primary caregiver, your baby might prefer breastfeeding because she'd want to be close to you and also accepts bottle afterwards when it's you who's giving it to her.

The Nipple flow rate being too slow or too fast, could be a factor too. Have you tried changing the bottle teat?
