lopsided feeding - will less favoured side 'dry-up' at this rate?!

my ds2 (16 wks) has alwys prefered the L side, but now it has got almost impossible to get him to feed on the R. He will feed for only 30-60secs after let down on the R then come off screaming and then happily feeds on the L.

My R boob is always smaller than L but when pg and bf the difference is more marked. this makes me thing i have less glandular br tissue on that side. with ds1 i tried to feed more on the R to sort of 'make it grow' iyswim, but it didn't increase and then he didn't put on wt and i had to mix feed and then he refused breast all together. i could only ever express 1oz on the R but 3-4 on L

i have tried rugby hold/lying down to feed but he still won't take the R even though there is milk spurting out often or at least i can express jets of milk.

will i end up even more lopsided? surely only so long that side will produce milk if not being removed.

i will try and express later to see what i can get but haven't done any with ds2 yet as think that may have messed with ds1's growth.

anyone else had similar experience?

Bumping for you, also to say that my 7 months old aslways favours the right, but will have a "snack" from the left side. Right side is often heading towards engorgement as she is so obsessed with than one side. Also only the preferred side leaks milk. No idea why.

I also noted that when I expressed I could get up to 3-4 oz easily on the right, but very little i.e. less than an oz on the left.

my dd always preferred rhs...she would go on the lhs but as time went on, her time there just got less and less. I persisted with trying to get her to go on the left but in the end, she was having a screaming fit whenever I tried to feed her on that one so at about 14 weeks, I gave up and let her do what she wanted - always offered rhs first of all and then after about a week she began to start to top up with the left. She was so much happier to take the lhs after a good feed on the rhs (sometimes a bit dozy as well which helped!) and I figured that any stimulation from her at all, even if it was just a few mins would be enough to keep the supply there. In between ,when she really wasn't interested, I did a bit of extra expressing on the lhs after a feed to keep supply up (not lots, just to keep things ticking over) and guess what..by about 4 months she was happily taking both again, supply not affected. I think that by letting her do what she wanted, she didn't get stressed out, I didn't get stressed out, she was full and happy and so I was happy. From then on, I always began feeds on rhs and over the months she definitely took more milk from the rhs, but not so that it made any noticable difference to me.

I remember in amongst all the b/feeding info/leaflets I was given in the maternity unit, one of the babies featured had a "favourite" breast - so we can't be the only ones with this situation.
