What formula is available in Spain similar to Aptamil liquid?

Going to Spain for a week and not taking formula with us. We usually do one bottle a day to supplement breast feeding and solid foods.

we usually buy the bottles of ‘Aptamil 1 First Infant Milk Formula Multipack from Birth’.

does anyone know if this is sold in Spanish supermarkets or if there is a similar brand and type?

it will be Valencia - supermarket likely Mercadona.

thanks!

Contact Aptimal customer services they will tell if they are available there and how to get it of they are

Aptimil is called Almiron in Spain. The packaging is otherwise identical though so easily recognised.

Hello

we went to Madrid a couple of months ago and brought pre-made bottles in our luggage because they only sold formula powder but not the ready made small bottles. I’m thinking it might be similar in Valencia

They sell aptamil powder in Spain (I think it has a different name but same packaging)

If you change your mind about taking formula with you, you can get aptamil in tablet form (like condensed powder) which are really useful for travelling. We did 2 weeks in USA with a 5 month old and that’s all we took!

You can order click and collect to boots airside

As pp said. It's called Almiron. It's not available in Mercadona but is in Carrefour and Pharmacies stock formula too.

Have you tried them on any thing else? We did half breast/half formula and used any formula and they never had stomach issues. I can’t remember what we used in Spain, but all were fine and pre-made. I would try alternating formula before you go to see if makes any difference.

I would second click and collect at Boots to pick up after security. It won’t affect your baggage allowance then.

Thanks everyone. I didn’t think of doing the boots click and collect - great idea!

Hi, did you find a liquid ready made formula in the end? We’re due to go in October.

It ended up being too late for me to do click and collect at boots security so I took a few bottles in hand luggage which security cleared - I didn’t see ready made formula at Mercadona, only powdered but I didn’t look at other supermarkets or pharmacies

I took one tin of Aptamil with us as we usually go through 1 a week, but he drank less more often so ran out on day 5. I went to a pharmacy (a very small one) and they had Aptamil Advanced 2 (which is what he drinks at home) but....
It's £4 more expensive, it doesn't mix well unless the water is boiling hot and even then it sticks to the bottle not sure why maybe there's an oil in it or something. He drank it because hes not fussy but it's definitely very different in taste, texture and there are lots of gassy bubbles.
I would recommend you buy your normal formula and take it with you, you can order with Boots and collect airside but you need to order 7 days in advance although some may have it on the shelf.
