Unsettled newborn ? Feeding the issue

Hi, just looking for some advice / recommendations.
My LG is 2 weeks old, since birth we have found her to be very unsettled and are at a bit of a loss.
She is on kendamil 3oz every 3 hours and takes her feeds well. She doesn’t spit up / is never sick after feeds. Although she does seem to keck and gulp throughout the day. We are using mam anti colic with S lasinoh teats. We have had a private oral assessment and she doesn’t have tongue tie however she does have a lot of tension in the head / jaw / neck as she is a c section baby. We are currently seeing an osteopath to help relieve the tension.
We were having dirty nappies after every feed but the last 2 days we have had 1 dirty nappy each day. Yellow in colour still quite loose. Sometimes she will poo whilst feeding.
She sleeps well throughout the night only waking for feeds / nappies.
When you take the bottle away during feeds she becomes unsettled, cries to the point she’s completely red in the face, very fidgety, arches her back but does wind throughout every feed.
I’ve noticed she has a hoarse voice.
She can sometimes be inconsolable and this can be for hours on end. We settle her by going for a drive or in the bath.
She is putting on weight well so I wouldn’t like to change her milk if not necessary but I know some babies find kendamil too rich so was thinking of trying HiPP comfort?
She is already on colief drops.

Is this possibly colic or silent reflux? Any advice would be appreciated as it’s awful seeing her so unsettled.

When is she unsettled? Our 8 week old has been unsettled between 7pm and 12am most nights for 5 weeks and that's classic colic symptoms. Apparently goes at about 12 weeks.

I'd say everything else you have mentioned is normal

It could be silent reflux. Back arching is a very classic silent reflux symptom

My daughter was very unsettled she had mild -moderate reflux but severe silent reflux as well as food allergies. She was gaining weight along a percentile but moved up a percentile when I took out her allergies and had adequate treatment for her silent reflux. It took a long time to get there as the GP was only looking at the physio reflux and this was nowhere near as bad as her silent reflux.

Hi OP, my baby is 7 weeks now and was sort of similar. What time is the unsettled crying? It could be colic, or it could just be what they call “purple crying”/witching hours. They seem to be in pain and inconsolable but actually it is really normal and often there is nothing wrong. We started a routine with our baby, her period of crying used to be 9pm-midnight so we pulled bedtime forward and she now only is really like this for an hour between 7-8pm. It is hard seeing her unsettled but I know there is nothing wrong and can hear now (after 7 weeks) that this is a totally different cry to genuine hunger/pain/tiredness. I just have her skin to skin during that time & on the boob and that is the only thing that settles her when she gets to that time but it does pass x

It used to be mainly evening anytime after 6pm. Then it became any time after 4, yesterday and today it’s happened during the morning as well but only for a short time and she’s been consolable.

Can I ask what treatment you received for her silent reflux please? Also, did you change her milk?
I’m wondering if she does have silent reflux as she isn’t solely unsettled during a certain time period

It really depends. It used to be after 6pm but the past 2 days she has been unsettled at different times throughout the day. Although I’m able to settle her in the day with the longest outburst lasting approx half an hour.
Tonight we seem to be able to settle her, she appears asleep and then shortly after will wake herself up crying which makes me wonder if there is something upsetting her? Possibly silent reflux. X

She was breastfeed so I took allergens out of my diet. She had gaviscon as a thickener and omperazole to reduce the amount of acid initially and then domperidone was added later which speeds up the gastric emptying time. Her reflux has proved tricky to treat. She is still on this medication at almost 4
