Hello.

My four day old LO is currently on 3oz every two hours? Is this normal/okay? She was 9lbs at birth.

Thank you ♥️

Yeah. She just seems to always want to feed. She's had two feeds in three hours and I don't know what to do :(

Is it every 2 hours day and night, or is that during the day and you’re getting a longer stretch at night? Usually they need about 2.5 ounces of formula per pound of body weight in a 24 hour period so you could work that out and see if it’s ballpark. Also, have you tried a dummy? Some babies just really like to suck for comfort and it can help. If they’re genuinely hungry they’ll spit it out and insist on being fed so it’s worth a go. For the most part though babies are excellent at regulating themselves and won’t overfeed, so I wouldn’t be too concerned. The exception to watch out for though is reflux/silent reflux as those babies are prone to overfeeding because the swallowing provides temporary relief. If baby has signs of either then I’d ask to see the health visitor or GP because it can be medicated.

It's every two hours morning and night :( she hates her dummy too :( I'll ask the midwives tomorrow as I'm getting rather concerned it could be silent reflux :(

She'll only sleep in mine or her Dads arms too.

That bit is absolutely normal, she’s only 4 days old. Have a look at some stuff bout the fourth trimester. She will feel safe with your familiar heartbeat and voice and her dad’s voice.
Congratulations!
