I think most women get on well using a ring sling. However I've tried with a wrap, mei tain and ring sling and can't manage it. My anatomy means that my boobs are just too low. worth a try though.

Better Baby Sling defrinitely. Absolutely brilliant

stretchy wrap supposed to be easy to bf unless you have large norks but i am not partic well endowed in that area and couldnt get the hang of it at all.

have just got ring sling, ds thinks it is brilliant to be so close to my nipple all day and sometimes even manages to latch on!

I have a hugabub but have never worked out how to BF in it, Callum is only 12lb too.

Caz10 · 06/04/2008 12:31

Thanks! TooTicky do you use it like this?

I have a freedom sling like this so I should probably be able to feed in that then?

I am such a sling dunce, am to admit how many there are unused in my house!!

Pretty much, but it's adaptable. You can pull the fabric around so that the baby's feet and/or head are all snuggled in, or let them hang out a bit like in the picture. There is also lots of scope for sitting up/reclining.
By pulling different bits through the rings you can do almost anything
Actually, the picture shows the rings quite low - I think I tended to have mine a little higher - nearer my shoulder.

I also had a freedom sling but, although I know many people love them and the woman who makes them is utterly delightful, I struggled with it. The Better Baby Sling is more substantial somehow, also the ring has ridges which stops the fabric from slipping through.

I have a kari-me and can feed fine in it - and I have rather large boobs (44H) - we just have to have one strap for his head etc very loose and low, and the other tight to go across his bum to do most of the supporting. (DS currently 12lb+ at 10 weeks)

I can't wander round feeding in it but I can do things like sitting up a table eating without having to support him, and when he was cluster feeding for 6 hours it means I could get up and go to the loo with a bit of care (thankfully he doesn't do that any more!)

I managed in a woven wrap, but only if I took my top off before putting the wrap on. Couldn't get my head round how to do it while staying clothed, so stopped trying.

I think DD was about 10 months and 20lb at that stage. She thought it was fab, once I'd got my act together - kept trying to latch on as I was trying to get it tied right (moving her head past temptation a number of times ).

I found a Huggababy was very good, discreet for feeding, comfortable

Caz10 · 10/04/2008 15:51

Thanks all! F&Z what age/size did you use the Huggababy at?
