Stressed FTM about formula

During the day I use the kettle the boil water and make each feed fresh.

For night feeds I use a flask we fill it just before going to bed between 10-11, when I make first feed the water feels like it’s just come from the kettle, I’m worrying about the feed I make nearer the morning whether the water is the recommended temperature, I tested it and it was 65 degrees.

Baby was born September been on formula since 16 weeks, now 8 months and I’ve been doing this method for quite awhile.

I’ve tried a couple of different brands of flasks.

I honestly can’t wait for the formula phase to be done it’s definitely an area of parenting that’s stressed me out the most.

I know they are expensive, but as the number of night feeds decreased I used the little ready made bottles of formula. Like you, I was anxious about the water temperature not being correct.

Thank you, yeah this is a good idea not sure why I didn’t think of it.

im stressing about the bottles he’s had that may or may not of been the right temp when there’s nothing I can do about it now. :/

The water probably weren’t the recommended temperature, but there’s only a very small chance of baby getting sick and you would have known about it.

Thank you, this is very true, he’s been absolutely fine, no issues and I don’t like comparing to how things were done but guidelines change all the time, I made my nephews feeds with cool boiled water only a few years ago.

I made my little one's bottle from a hot water dispenser that was 65° and he was never ill from it. I think you'll be ok if you haven't seen any bad reactions 😊

I've done exactly what you're doing for both of my kids from about 5 months and everything has been fine!

Thanks ☺️ it still feels pretty hot and I still have to run it under the tap so it’s cool enough to drink. X

Thank you ☺️ I’ll stop panicking my partner has thrown the thermometer away (I was becoming abit obsessed with it and asked him to get rid of it).

hopefully we only have a few more weeks of night feeds/early morning feeds.

My little one drank it at 65°, but he still guzzles his milk like I don't ever feed him( not on formula anymore) 🤣🤣🤣

Ah they are all unique aren’t they.

I expressed for 13/14 weeks so he was used it out of the fridge which means he will only drink his formula cold, if I could make with cool boiled my life would be so much easier 🤣🤣

I wanted to bf but couldn't and very quickly found he had dairy intolerance so from 3 weeks he was on soya formula. He never would take it cooled, would have made my life easier if he had 🤣🤣🤣

You can make up a batch and pop them in the fridge for 24 hours. Use as required. DDs used to drink them cold. Also at 8 months you can start to relax a bit more.
