Hormones and breastfeeding (15 months)

I have a 15 month old who I have breast fed from birth. She now only has breast milk before her nap in the day and at night (frequently).
I’ve always enjoyed breastfeeding but in the last few weeks at night time I usually have one episode of feeding where I feel awful. I feel like I don’t want to do it. Touched out. And I often end up getting teary. It’s awful.
Then I’ll go back to sleep and then next time she has a feed I’ll feel fine, just like I always have.
I honestly feel absolutely fine the rest of the day and night so don’t think it’s PND or anything like that. It feels hormonal, like a sudden rush of feelings that I just can’t control. Has anyone experienced this or know if this is a thing?
Many thanks!

Maybe this is your body's way of saying it's time to stop. 15 months is amazing she will be eating solids and can have whole milk I'm sure she's had the best start.

I breastfed until 2y4m, and that’s how I started to feel towards the end. I developed a complete aversion to breastfeeding and hated it. I was also pregnant so my breasts were super sensitive but I suddenly hated breastfeeding. Fortunately I was planning to wean anyway, but I agree that it might be a sign of you being done with it.

Thank you both for your replies - I appreciate it.
If I felt like this more often I would completely agree with you and look to wean. I honestly only feel like it once a night though and the rest of the time I still love the closeness and comfort and really don’t feel ready to stop yet.
I have been doing a little bit of research today and it sounds like Dysphoric Milk Ejection Reflex to me. It’s weird I only get it once a day but I’m thinking it may be to do with mainly just feeding at night and a sudden rush of milk production and hormones that go along with that!
If anyone has experienced this please let me know how you coped with it!
