Breastfed baby mucus in poo - see pictures

Hi everyone, I’m breastfeeding my second baby, she’s 6 weeks old. She has had a fair amount of mucus in her poo the last week, currently only does 1-2 dirty nappies a day and they’re pretty big but mustard yellow and smell normal. She seems to be in some pain particularly in the evenings, and spits up (not every feed but maybe half of her feeds). I’m already on a non dairy diet and have been for 4 weeks now. Would you recommend I try the GP? She’s putting weight on well following the 75th percentile. Thank you in advance

@nibblemunch you're in the wrong place! And you were warned by the title Grin

Agree OP that if you're worried, speak to the GP. In my experience baby's poos can change quite a bit from day to day, and especially if they have a cold, but always best to check in if you're worried. Do you have a health visitor you can call?

Thanks @Borgonzola was just interested to see if people thought it was normal for breastfed babies, the internet seems to imply it is, but with the pain too I do wonder if a trip to the GP or chat to HV is needed! @nibblemunch Sorry but not sorry 🤣 the title plus labelling the pics sensitive content should’ve warned you off, but maybe you were just too intrigued to pass these poonamis by! 🙈

This all looks and sounds totally normal IMO, but if you’re worried, no harm in speaking to your health visitor

Hi.
I would recommend seeing GP.
Its most probably nothing but will give you reassurance.

My DD's poo looked like that a lot of the times in the beginning. As you mention her reaction in the evenings perhaps check with HV or GP I agree.
