Loose watery stools in 7 week old - cant find solution

My 7 week old baby is formula fed (cow and gate) and has always poops during or immediately after feed.

For the last 3 days, the poops tend to be watery and very loose, resulting in leaking up his back and legs, ruining his clothes. Almost every nappy change results in a change of clothes which has been exhausting! HV not concerned but its not good enough as my washing machine is working overtime!

Other synonyms: a little spit up after most feeds (my eldest had reflux but the baby has definitely way less spitup) , no vomiting, gets unsettled after feed finishes and calms down once burped, very very minor rash on belly. He has been congested since week 2 with runny nose- hospital diagnosed mild bronchiolitis and we were discharged as sats were normal. But it never followed a pattern as they say bronch is worse on day 5, and congestion hasnt really gone away. He is otherwise well in himself-smiling and sleeping well

So im thinking potential allergy? Would it be worth trying a more gentler formula? We have gp appt on monday but wanted to know if others have been through this?

My child had very watery poo until they were eating a decent amount of solids. I know you’ve got an appointment so hopefully you get some answers but I was constantly washing clothes with nothing actually being wrong

My baby had all the symptoms you describe which turned out to be a cows milk protein allergy. We ended up seeing a dr, who referred to a paed dietician and we swapped to a hypoallergenic formula. Luckily I was combo-feeding as she wouldn’t take to the new formula, so ended up just breastfeeding which seemed to solve the issue.

Hv dismissed cmpa because he has no reflux and is generally settled, no long bouts of crying etc
