Breast to bottle - combi feeding

Help us please!

my baby is 9 months and predominately breast fed. She has one bottle a day at bedtime no problems and previously when I’ve been out (I don’t leave her that often once a month maybe for a beauty treatment/meet up with friends) she has taken a bottle in the day no problem from dad. She’s had both breast milk and formula in the bottle.

I am back to work soon so wanted to get her used to taking more bottles. We have both tried giving her bottles. However suddenly she’s having meltdowns if she sees it and refusing it (she’s still taking her bedtime bottle). I’m at a complete loss what to do. Her weaning journey has been very slow and she is only just starting to show interest in food. So I can’t rely on that for giving her sustenance.

I’m now so worried about her going to nursery all day if she isn’t taking a bottle or eating.

I am sure some of you have been in this position before, so any wise words and help would be much appreciated.

I wouldn't stress about it then. Feed her when you both get up and when you pick her up and again before she goes to bed.

She may be want extra night feeds but you can do some gentle night weaning once she hits 12 months.

Three feeds will give her everything she needs but she is also very likely to take a bottle at Nursery if she you're not around and she's tired and hungry.

Honestly she'll be fine. Both of mine were a bit younger and both were total bottle refusers and they were ok Wink

Thank you so much for your reply and for calming my anxieties. Babies are such a worry! X

Have you tried a bigger teat size in the day? Sleepy bedtime baby may not care so much about slower flow but in the day it might be annoying for her. I had to cut bigger cross shapes into my BF baby’s bottle teats to get her on board with them
