Hello all
have a baby with a feeding aversion so decided to chance her milks to see will it help
currently she is on cow and gate
and was going to switch her to Kendamil

looking at the feeding guide the cow and gate says 5 7oz bottles a day and the Kendamil says 4 7oz bottles a day for a 6 month old , does anyone know why this would be?

thanks

Who knows?
Do the calories differ?
You'd be feeding to your lo's appetite anyway so it doesn't really matter what the tub says

@dementedpixie My lo doesn’t show hungry ques so we have to go by schedule

But when you feed her she takes a certain amount and that's what I mean by feeding to appetite. Does she not cry for food or give any other hunger cues?

@dementedpixie she has a bad feeding aversion atm she’s only taken 1oz since 11am today .. so I try to go by the box 😊

Cow and gate is very thin, Kendamil is thicker and smells creamier. I think from memory Kendamil is made from milk as opposed to milk powder (cow and gate) but I might be mistaken on that but if so that would be more filling. I’d look at the nutritional info and compare. Also at 6 months, they be starting to wean so it’s just a guide as some babies will taking to weaning a lot better than others. Use the NHS formula advice for how a child should be having, which has an upper and lower range.

@Formulamum have you tried using a cup rather than a bottle? Is it just the bottle she has an aversion to or is it to all foods?

From 6 months a minimum of 20oz is recommended alongside meals. Does she eat solids too? You can include dairy products and milk in cereal/in foods when looking at milk intake so they don't need it all as a drink.

Tried opens cups sippy cups several different bottle with no avail :(
She eats pretty well no issues there thankfully

How did the switch go? Im thinking of switching as well. Due to baby not finishing her bottles 90% of the time

Formulamum · 29/12/2024 19:03

@RaineElliana honestly no it didn’t help , she ended up off bottle by 9months and 2 sippy cups of formula a day which she had about 1/2oz and totally off formula by 11months , on the other side she does drink normal cows milk now.

best of luck i know how hard this is ❤️

Kendamil can be hard to get hold of sometimes especially if looking for comfort varieties so I wouldn't look to it as a magical solution
