Best washable breast pads?

Title says it all really....

Last time around I got some that are fleece on the outside and apparently hemp inside; can't remember the name or where I got them. But they're so thick that I look like I have headlights in my bra, and they tend to leak quite easily. So I've been using up a stockpile of disposable breast pads donated by a friend. But I really need to get something washable in the long term. Which ones have worked for you?

i have some organic cotton imse vimse ones that are nice and soft and contoured. i think they are lovely, but not tried any others. i bought from green baby.

I know this isn't quite what you asked but I've been using cloth wipes folded (the cotton Bottom ones made of cotton fleece) they are slightly smaller than a hankie and i put one on the side I'm not feeding on as that's when I get leaks, I've also found bamboo flannels perfect for this (bamboo towelling is so soft), I'm not sure if anyone makes bamboo pads but I'd buy them (hint, hint).

As they are just one layer of cloth they wash and dry really easily

MrsWS - hmmm, good idea. It's never really occurred to me to just cover the 'other' side when feeding.

My biggest problem is major leaks at night. That's why I stopped bf-ing with DD1; I was soaking the bed every night once she started sleeping through. I was reduced to stuffing a terry nappy in my bra and even that wasn't enough some nights! DD2 is still only 3 weeks old so no major night leaks yet, but it'll happen soon enough!

I've ordered some Lilypadz stick-on ones in the hope that they might stop the leakage.

I too love the lansinoh wawhables, they are so nice next to your skin. I also used the Heavenly Pads and they too are brilliant disposables - and a great price too

Another vote for Lansinoh washables

I also use nappy liners. I cut them in half and use one very soft towelling and then one made of fleece. They don't show up and if you have the time (hahahahha) you can hem them, but I never bothered.

One thing though - do buy a laundry net, the washing machine repair man was such a frequent visitor to our house we got to know how he liked his tea

Just read this thread with interest - I feel like I am spending a fortune on pads - I like nature babycare disposables - but expensive. Have not found a washable one that is absorbant enough - tried Lansinoh - like the shape, but not absorbant enough for me. What are Lilypadz like?
