It's when you pick a baby up and feed it while it is still sleeping. I did it just before I went to bed instead of waiting for them t wake me IYSWIM.

Doesn't work for all babies. Mine used to stay asleep and feed. I recommended it to a friend who said if she picked her baby up she would have woken her up and she would have been wide awake!!!

probably a bit early as in the baby is a little small, for the dream feed but usually its around 11pm last feed of the night, when u have a knda of routine going, about 14wks might be the time for it to start , but baby would be in bed 7/8pm and then you lift for that "dream feed" at 10.30/11pm and settle back in for the night or maybe u might have to feed again in the night and morning then.

but baby is asleep and u lift for the dream ffeeed. hth

Don't bother with dream feed, will just disturb your baby. That's just my opinion!

I was very sceptical but now baby nearly 12 weeks works quite well....as said down between 7-9ish depending how grumpy/tired...then lift still asleep when I go to bed between 11-12 with any luck she feeds and stays asleep so straight back down after feed then with any luck sleep through till 6-7am ...doesn't always work though and sill sometimes wake between 2-4 for another feed ....am BF but can't see why wouldn't work as well with ff

hhhmmm, I was wondering about this too. Surely if baby is sleeping there is no need to disturb them and they will let you know when they need fed?

I couldn't see the point either but it does seem to work - the whole point being you don't WAKE the babe at all just let them feed still asleep so that you can get some unbroken sleep - ie I would prefer to dreamsleep when I go to bed when she has been asleep for 4 hrs than wait till 2am when she wakes ravenous and I have only had 2 hours sleep....if it works and she then goes till 6am I can end up with 6hrs unbroken sleep as opposed to broken sleep .....but it didn't work till mine was bit older and able to go that 6 hours

We do this and started when DD regularly woke at 11.30 each night - we're early to bed so dream feed her a bottle at 10pm and this mostly sees her thro the night.

I have to say we both thought it was madness but it has worked well for 3 mths now (since she was 4 mths old), we BF during the day and FF at night
