Recycling cold sterile water

Not strictly infant feeding but closest topic I could find!

Our beautiful baby boy is 2 weeks old and we're slowly getting into the swing of things.

We are cold water sterilising his bottles etc using Milton tablets.

We are on a water meter and want to save where we can. Seems very wasteful to throw 5 litres of water down the drain each day.

Are there any safe reuses of this water? Is it safe for the garden? I'm thinking we could store it in a water butt and reuse it in summer if possible.

Thanks!

It's basically very diluted bleach so I wouldn't have thought that it was good for the garden. Why not use steam sterilising so as not to waste the water?

I’m pretty sure it says on the packet that it’s toxic to aquatic life etc. it’s obviously very dilute so maybe it would be ok but personally I wouldn’t water the garden with large quantities of it. I often used the microwave steam bags and that only needed a tiny bit of water.

Use it as a cleaning solution, you could dilute it more
