I am still breastfeeding my 10mo ds and will do so at least until he starts nursery at 1 year.

I want to hold on until then so that he still has that to come home to as he settles into his new routine (I also go from part time to full time then). I have thought about winding it down after that but that is by no means a definite. I still feed him in the morning, about 5pm, at bedtime and at least once in the night, and maybe once or twice in the day if he wants it. Is this a lot?

How often do you feed your older baby?

Gosh . This issue of how many feeds is a big one for me at present. My lo is 10 months old . I feed him 3 times in 24 hours. But lately he has reduced down to only twice per day ..in the am and before bed .
The Issue is that I KEEP ON reading that he should be getting 500-600 mls of breast milk per day .... and theres no Way tht my breasts are giving that in two feeds .
He olny drinks juice from cups . ie no milk other than breast milk .
My friend was a little (shock) WTF(dont know how to do the wee faces ) last night when i told her ....saying " you mean hes not getting any other milk" outhwith the b'feeds . Quelle Horeur .
Is My wee boy missing out . ?

When Ds was 12 months old he was having morning feed, lunchtime EBM at nursery, evening feed and some point in the night feed. He dropped the daytime EBM at around 13 months, the nighttime at 18 months, and the evening at 21 months.

Spider - that milk figure includes milk in cheese, yogurt and cooked foods etc.

My DS is 13 months and I bf him first thing in th morning and before bed and if he wakes up in the night.

He will also have milk (rice milk as dairy allergic) with his cereal and a cup of milk (or a bf if I'm not at work) in the afternoon, plus soya yoghurts with meals to get more calcium into him.

So I think what you a\re doing is fine.
