and other words i have used today trying to feed ds3

OK, so he is only 4 days old BUT he spent the first 3 days and nights feeding so when my milk properly came in today i was like jordan. He takes a bit of time to latch on the right side and my left nipple is cracked but he hasn't wanted to feed all that much at all today (typical!) This evening i had to express some off just so i could stop whimpering in pain with every breath

Is that normal?

I couldn't find lansinoh at tesco so got kamillosan instead. His latch feels fine or did until i was so rock hard that he struggled a lot.

SOmeone give me a kick, remind me its hormones and that it will be a new day tomorrow

You are entirely normal I'm afraid. Two paracetamols and express some off in a warm shower - worked for me.

In terms of getting him to latch - he's learning too remember, but I would recommend trying the rugby hold, they feed much quicker and it reduces the pressure.

You are doing very well - I was a total basketcase four days after birth with DD

You could try hand expressing a bit to get rid of the hard / engorged-ness (is that a word?) and also lying down to feed - it worked for me when I was where you are now. Good luck!

I think it's engorgement broguemum. But yes expressing a bit will help. Mine looked like polaris missiles when my milk came in....at 3am....in a busy postnatal ward...with no available midwives to advise. Grrr.

Ooops - of course it is.
