roboass, sorry you are having a hard time.
On the type of pump, I used to use the industrial hospital pumps in the hospital (SCBU) which were fantastic, but I averaged only 1-2 oz per session, the most I ever got was 4 oz - only once, and in the morning after a whole night. I was bursting.
There were ladies next to me, come in at lunch time, use the same pump, and get 5-10 oz thick milk at a go, easy peasy.
It is very individual what you get. Also, although almost every woman has adequate supply (if baby is put to breast on demand), each woman's storage capacity (ie volume of feed delivered at one go) is very different, along with force of let down.
I suspect my dcs were both little and often feeders because they were snackers by nature and also because I could not store much. Both were truly shocking in the sleep department for ages and ages (ds 17 months still wakes 4-5x per night) though part of the reason is because they were using me as a human dummy and refused the latex ones.
I am coping because feeds were very quick during the day (5-10 mins) and did not bother me. At night, I co-slept and bf-ed.
By all means try the electric pump. See how that goes. {{{hugs}}}
