Dropping a feed - 6/7hrs feeding constantly

Hello 👋

I've posted a lot on here about my difficult breastfeeding journey. My baby is now 9 weeks and I'm looking to switch to formula at the end of the fourth trimester. I read about how you're supposed to drop a feed a day. But my problem is from about 1pm or 2pm, he feeds none stop until 8pm. When my partner takes him and he screams (baby not partner lol) until he falls asleep. Will sometimes have expressed milk or formula during this time but often refuses it .

How can I drop a feed when he basically feeds continuously all day? I've not left my sofa in 9 weeks and it's having a serious affect on my mental and physical health. He wakes 4 times at night for feeds too. But these are usually short.

Tried taking him to do the grocery shop and he usually cries all the time whatever we do unless he's on the boob. Has about 3 hours across the day happy and playing. He will only sleep without a boob with my husband.

How do I switch to formula?!

Also after Many...many begging the health visitor and midwives and GP, he's finally getting his tongue tie sorted next week! As he's not gaining weight like he was.

Once the tongue tie is sorted breastfeeding will get better.

Sounds exactly like my DS who had TT. Hope things improve once the TT is divided.

Could your DH do the first feed, say around 6 or 7 am? That way you can get yourself ready for the day.

When he's cluster feeding in the afternoon, have you been advised to try some breast compressions?
