Putting 9mo on cows milk? Formula too expensive Advice please

Hi all.. My 8mo DS is drinking formula milk however with prices gone so high we are really struggling to make ends meat on our low income and with winter bills coming in its such a squeeze we have to cut spending alot. 3 tins lasts us about 8 or 9 days at 17.50 euro a pack. I can't afford it anymore and am thinking of switching him to full fat cows milk at about 9 months old. Stating watered down and increasing milk content from there. Has a home made the switch this early? My grandmother fed her babies cows milk from birth I think her kids are okay. Surely cows milk will be okay from 9 months along with solids?

Here's the difference @MsCactus

My mum breast fed me. I chose to bottle feed my dd. My mum has never once judged me for it. Also I find that infographic comparing breast milk and formula funny. I have allergies and was exclusively breast fed. I know lots of people who were bottle fed and they don't have allergies.

How's it going? @WhiteBow2223

I'm trying to feed him much more. And he's taken to it really well. Making sure he eats with us 3 times a day always having mash potoes and milk with some meat and veg at hand. I tried making custard with banana he loves it. And he loves hard boiled eggs. I hadn't really gone beyond purees much till now and he's taking the food very well. But the bottles are almost the same frequency. About 120 mls morning. 210 before each of his 2 naps even after big meals have been eaten! 240 ml before bed. And at least 2 night wakes each time not sleeping till he's had at least half of a 210ml bottle.. Sigh.. Started with the non organic kendamil and seems fine. Hopefully see some improvement after a few weeks. Especially with darned night bottles...

And I know the other way round tbf! Hardly funny just facts 😊 So far my breastfed son has shown no allergies. I gave him nuts early and also ate nuts when I breastfed him. So far so good. I know it can change. But 🤞

@Cowlover89 - I have no allergies. Are nuts when pregnant, ate nuts breastfeeding. Gave Ds peanut butter at 7 months and he had full on severe reaction to them. He’s still allergic now. He was breastfed until 2 years. Didn’t help allergy wise. He’s also allergic to a bunch of other things including non edible like grass
