Back pain - breastfeeding

I'm feeling like an idiot.
I have been breastfeeding sitting on the edge of my bed and baby is now 15 weeks old and my back is messed up. Even on the sofa I end up hunched forward and not seeking any back support.

I am seeing a physio and I am trying my very best to remember to do the exercises.

I just feel like an idiot. I feel like every single mum out there feeding makes sure their back is supported and there is me just hunched over the end of my bed. I feel like I must be the only woman to have done this.

Is there anyone else out there who fed like this and is this my life now? Will I forever be the person with a bad back? My partner does most of the carrying and rocking to sleep at night to help with this.

I have a verys bad back and I breastfeed although I'm not sure the two are related.
Did you have an epidural?
You just gave birth and I think that can mess our backs up!

Now you have exercises to do just keep on with that.
Can you feed laying down on your side?

Sort out a good chair to sit in and a breastfeeding support pillow. They really help!

Use pillows to bring baby up to your breast, or feed on your side, never hunch over.

If you can afford a chiropractor I'd recommend it for hands on relief now. Can you join a bf group? Watch some videos from the NCT or La Leche League as your position and latch will need adjustment once you start bringing baby up to boob.

Hi OP, the solution is to breastfeed whilst lying down on your side. It's a game-changer. Whilst feeding, slowly slide down without breaking the latch and keep baby on your arm with head on the inner part of your shoulder. This helps you straighten your back and rest while feeding.
