4 month old slipped down a weight centile

Hi my EBF 4 month old has dropped a centile since last weigh in a month ago although she is now at same place on chart she started on ( between 9th and 25th) months 2 and 3 she was above 25th. Should I just step up feed frequency and length? We feed about 8 times a day and she's started sleeping 8 hours at night.
Annoyed as had a call with a sleep expert who told me not to feed so much as i would give DD digestive issues. Do I need to put feet up and get back into the box sets? I'd also stopped eating sweet treats for my own weight could that be an issue?

Feed as much as you would like to - presuming you are feeding directly from the breast and not expressing/bottle feeding it is impossible to overfeed an exclusively breastfed baby. Breastfeeding on demand is not going to cause digestive issues, shame on that sleep consultant! If she’s not a qualified lactation consultant she should not be giving feeding advice - for this exact reason!

I’d advise against feeding to a schedule - feed on demand, as much as baby wants to. If DD isn’t hungry she won’t feed! Cuddle up with the box sets - a content baby will sleep more than a hungry one! Don’t worry too much, have lots of skin to skin and keep an eye on nappy output.

My DD was gaining weight quite fast (had her checked at weigh in clinic every 6 weeks) and when I stopped eating sweets and anything sugary/unhealthy, she stopped gaining weight so fast. As PP said I would feed on demand when breastfeeding.

Omg do not restrict your baby having breast milk! What apalling advice. Feed your baby when they are hungry. Wright will start to pick up.

Your food intake is largely irrelevant. Just drink lots.

Don't panic so long as you BF on demand and your baby looks bright and happy. One of mine was a hippo at birth and slid down the weight centiles during her first year. Had she been my first I would have been really worried but she wasn't and I barely had time to weigh her. She was active, vocal, social, developing as she should so the HV and clinic didn't even comment.

It was as if her genetics were finally overriding a super-efficient placenta.

Mine was born on the 98th and dropped to 25th by 6 months. I fed on demand, no health professional said it was an issue he was perfectly healthy. Unless the baby isnt meeting milestones/is unhappy or is having dry nappies I would continue what you are doing.

If it's relevant hes 4 now and back up to the 98th centile for height, weight is around 50th
