DS 11 Wks - reduced feeding

Hi, just posting to see if anyone can shed any light or offer advice/experience.
DS turned 11 weeks yesterday, until the last few days, he has been feeding well- even though he has been diagnosed with reflux and is on infant gaviscon- feeding has never been a major issue. He takes size 2 teats (Tommee tippee), is humongous for his age (length well above 99th percentile and weighs around 17lbs now, according to the bathroom scale), drinking average 6-7oz every 3 hours through the day or 4-5 hours overnight.

For the past few days he has been only taking 3-4 oz per feed, is really fussy taking his feed and has been sick quite a lot more. He still on the gaviscon so I don’t think it’s a reflux issue. It has also been extremely hard to get him down to nap- he gets really upset and cries and cries, even though he is overtired and crying anyway. Then he sleeps for about 30-40 mins, wakes up and cries until he is settled again. This can sometimes take about 20-30 mins. I feel like I am a slave to getting him to nap and my days are spent in a dark room, with white noise blasting, feeling miserable. He won’t sleep in the car or pram as he is just too nosey but then cries as he is overtired. Thankfully, at the moment anyway, he goes down Ok at night.

Is this some kind of phase or could he be unwell? It’s so unusual for him to not just down his bottle as he is usually a complete grubber.

Which formula is he on @Hoppyhops? Have you thought about swapping him to a comfort formula?

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto He’s on Cow & Gate Hungry baby - he’s been on it since about 5-6 weeks as the regular formula just didn’t seem to fill him and he was drinking well over what he ‘should’ have been for his age. GP said it should help as it’s thicker. I hadn’t thought about Comfort milk tbh- definitely worth a try to see if he’s better on it!
