Hi my DD is 4 weeks. She was having about 3 oz every 3 hours from 2 weeks to now. Since 2 days she is falling asleep after having 1oz to 2oz. So half of what she was having. She is also taking upto 45 mins to have this..after her first burp she literally doesnt suck on the bottle or pushes it out whilst sleeping. i am currently using size 1 mam teats in mam bottles.

My little one was like this and hv told me to try next size teats which were better as he wasn't tiring himself with slow flow teats so not getting enough. Hope this helps

Just bring feeds closer together. Or baby may be not be a big eater. Are ypu getting plenty of wrt and dirty nappies? Mine should be having approx 5oz per feed and only does 3-4. But has one every 2-3 hrs and does have boob in between and before bottles.

It's not late onset jaundice or something is it? Mine was exactly like this and we had to have 3 days of phototherapy. Jaundice can look different in Asian babies but then your midwife/HV should have already been looking into Jaundice, etc.

No shes not jaundice. Just dont know whats going on

This sounds similar to DD. She had a tongue tie, jaundice and silent reflux. Have you had yours checked for tongue tie?

I used to offer her feeds on demand, but offer the rest of the bottle half an hour before it “expired” (so 90 mins after making). I also found she fed better when asleep, so sometimes would do a dream feed during a nap if she was low for the day.

She’s now 6 months and weaning. I am still hugely anxious about her weight and general eating habits, and go to the health visitor weigh ins every fortnight or so for my own sanity. She’s gone from (roughly) 25th to 50th centile, despite only having maybe 2/3 of the lower end of the recommended milk intake for her weight.
