Early weaning and dropping bottles

DS is 5.5 months. We started weaning at 4m on dietician advice for severe reflux and CMPA.
still being sick but not on food just whenever he has milk, he’s on SMA alfamino.
recently he is wanting much more food and screaming at his bottles. It’s an absolute battle to get milk into him, so what do I do? Carry on with the food? - he is getting plenty of calories as weight gain has increased recently and he finally seems to be moving up on the centile chart.
or should I be cutting it back to encourage him to drink the milk? I mean CMPA milks are awful so I understand why he doesn’t want it.

any advice?

Sorry OP. Sounds tricky! I put four scoops of formula in her bowl, add hot water (not too much or it’ll be too runny). Mix it all up so it dissolves. Then add her baby food, fruit purée, squeezy peanut butter, yoghurt, porridge etc. At least that way you might get to 12-16oz a day over the course of three or four meals, so he’s still getting all the nutrients.

My DD will take bottles, but sometimes only one or two a day, so I’ve been sneaking it into her food since weaning her at 4m

It’s natural they start to drop milk feeds when starting solids. We weaned my eldest early for the same reasons. By 6 months he was on 3 meals and had dropped 1 milk feed.

W me did baby rice made with his formula for breakfast to get another milk feed into him. You can add some fruit purée to make it tasty if you want.

We also did coconut yoghurt as pudding with meals.
