Did you always wear breast pads?

The first month the leaking was bad , even going through pads and covering my sheet. I’d take my bra off to shower and leak on the floor. We are 5 months in and every night I’ve worn a bra and pads ( I hate Bras) but needs must. Realised I was getting a bad back always having a bra on.

anyway DS woke the other night at 3 am ish as usual for his feed but then had a poonami and lots of sick, after putting him in his cot I was that tired I slept with just a top on and forgot to put a bra back on. Woke up in the morning and no leaks ! Then I realised have I been wearing pads and a bra every night for 5 months for no reason?!

so wore no bra for another couple nights and it was pure bliss but then I woke this morning and for some reason I was leaking all over like a water pistol.

so got me wondering what about you guys ?

I did for the first couple of months - I can't remember when I stopped though! We're 9 months in and I can't remember the last time I wore one.

In bed I wear these https://www.marksandspencer.com/3pk-seamless-non-wired-bralettes/p/clp60500235?color=SOFTPINK&prevPage=srp#intid=plpnav_pid_pg1pip48g2r1c2|prodflag_srp_ts_QPH_100

I never wore the breast pads as my breasts were always so sore at the beginning, and the breast pad sticking to my cracked, bleeding nipple was dreadful. I'm still breastfeeding my 17 month old and only recently don't have milk stains in all of my bras.

I wore H&M maternity vest tops and stuck the pad on the inside lining. Way more comfy than a bra Smile

With dc1, for a couple of months. With DC 2 and dc3 maybe for a couple of weeks. I never leaked for long and I fed them all to around 2 years old. Surely you know if you need them if they are wet or not? I used bamboo washable ones not disposable ones.

I wore them for about six months but I could tell I still needed them (they would get damp). I didn't sleep in a bra though, I had H&M nursing vests which had enough inbuilt support to hold the pads in place

Didn't need to - low supply mum so there was no risk of leaking as there wasn't much milk at all!

I dutifully used some washable ones initially as it was on the list of essentials but quickly realised it was pointless

Like @RidingMyBike i never needed pads which was a pity as I'd bought some really pretty cloth ones and wanted to buy more.
Still breastfeeding my toddler many, many times a day and night, just never leaked. Can't use a haakaa on the other boob to collect milk when feeding now as DC just pulls it off.

I swapped to folding up a towel and putting it under the sheet. When I realised that I didn't need it I removed it.

Thank you everyone for your experiences! I feel silly as most of the time the pads are never wet which is why I can’t believe I’ve been wearing a bra to bed for 5 month! So was braless for 2 nights but on the third I woke up and they started leaking ( might be more to do with baby crying though) will try the towel idea I think. Thanks again
