Prescription formula - ready made bottles?

Hi,

I have a 3 month old who has been breast fed since birth but I am now looking at stopping. He has a cows milk allergy so the Dr did give us a prescription for the powder when he was diagnosed, however, is there a pre made version of this too? We are going away in July and I don’t know how I would feed him without the ready made stuff. The powdered bottles are only good for 2 hours and the water for them must be freshly boiled each time and left to cool for 30 minutes (not possible in an airport!).

thanks!

Hi my little one has a CMPA too and is on prescription milk. Iv never seen pre-made ones on his milk but when we’re out I just treat it like any other milk. I make the bottles with just the water and keep it warm in a bottle warmer bag. I have a milk dispenser pot so can prepare them before hand. They once they are mixed then they need to be used within 2 hours. Then just make it up when needed my baby actually prefers milk on the colder side so that easier for but I also have a flask with hot water to warm them up if I’m out for a long day.

I got my daughter a little flask that showed the temperature on the lid.
When going out she took a pre made bottle kept in a cool bag, plus the flask of hot water, then when it was needed she knew the water was at the correct temperature to make a new bottle up.
I got it in Lidl but I've seen them on ebay too.

@scottiedog20 would something like this help?

Are you going away anywhere hot in July?
If so it might be worth stopping breastfeeding after the trip. At a similar age in a hot country my baby fed very often to keep cool and it probably would have been more of a faff with bottles. Also the airport as you mention, I found travelling a lot easier before weaning.
If you are going to bring the powder look up in advance a suitable alternative at your destination and bring details of prescription in case of any issues.
