6 month old refusing feeds

Hi, for the last week my baby is refusing to be breastfed a lot of the time in the day and I’m worried that he isn’t getting enough fluids and that it will affect my supply.
for example today he fed at 6:30am, I offered him a feed several times and he refused and only fed again at 4:30 have fed him at 7:30 and now he is asleep.
yesterday was similar and I did a dreamfeed at 11 and he fed for like 40 minutes as I wanted to make sure he is getting enough.
anyone been in this position and can offer advice, is it a stage? He doesn’t take bottles so that’s not an option for him.

It’s called a nursing strike! I don’t remember much about it other than it can just happen sometimes but it doesn’t mean breastfeeding is over. You’ll get back to normal.

Kelly mom has a useful page on it and more besides the one linked. https://kellymom.com/ages/newborn/nb-challenges/back-to-breast/

I wouldn’t worry too much about your supply after 6 months your supply will be rock solid. Maybe hand express or use a pump though if you feel uncomfortable. You don’t want to get blocked ducts.

Does she have any teeth coming through?

my baby has been like this for months but is particularly bad when we're out of the house. he wants to crawl around instead of feed (he's 9 months). It hasnt affected my supply really but he has dropped the centiles since birth so in my paranoia last week i finally succumbed and bought my first bottle of formula (pre made). When we've been out of the house ive put it in a sippy cup and he's been happy to drink it.

You could always try pumping and putting that in a cup if you still want to breastfeed

@PinkPlantCase that's true but I hate pumping. did it a bit for the first child and stopped bothering with the 2nd very quickly as he never drank from a bottle. I dont think I could be bothered with pumping on the off chance that hr might actually drink a bit when I'm out the house. I'd rather just wait to feed when he gets home, but then 2nd time round I dont have the time/energy
