Cluster feeding and oversupply

Mommas, please help by sharing your experiences as I need a bit of hope. My ebf baby is 7 weeks old and I believe he's going through a growth spurt and has been cluster feeding over the last couple of days. That's fine, I accepted this need of constant feeding and I'm able to manage it, but I'm already dealing with an oversupply issue and I am terrified of producing even more milk.
I exclusively pumped for the first 2 weeks of his life until we managed to get a proper latch and since then I have been so uncomfortable, always engorged between feedings, leaking all the time, random painful let downs, you name it. I have been working with a lactation consultant (who's now on holiday!) to try and reduce the supply and things seemed to be getting better (very slowly :( ) but now with the cluster feeding I'm scared we're back to square one.

That sounds uncomfortable @imc19, how are you getting on today?

I've not had experience of Oversupply but I think in your shoes I would phone one of the Breastfeeding Helplines. Is there a Breastfeeding Support Group that you can get to? Or a LLL group?

The only other thing I can think of that might be of any use is this article on Kellymom Flowers

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto
Hi, thank you so much for asking!
Still uncomfortable, but cluster feeding slowed down a bit and I'm going to start block feeding and see how that goes. Consultant is coming to see us on the 20th so I'm waiting patiently until then.
I have now joined a Facebook group, it really seems professionally run so I've asked for some advice there as well.
That website is also a really good resource, thank you. I'm now researching and gathering as much info as I can, as I naively assumed breastfeeding was going to be easy and natural and I became overwhelmed by these issues. I never imagined too much milk could be such an uncomfortable issue and difficult to resolve, as I only heard about low supply. But I remain hopeful and enjoy the journey with my little man while I can... :)

If you do feel overwhelmed and your Lactation Consultant isn't back until 20th, please do think about calling one of the BFing Helplines. The BFCs have all BF and all have the latest information and are able to support you Flowers

I've dealt with over supply! It can be really painful, and also scary because of forever trying to stave off being full or developing mastitis.

Only advice I have is that it will massively settle down within a couple of months and your body will better understand your babies needs.

@itsabigtree thank you, that's sooo reassuring :)
