Cow and gate comfort

I have recently changed my 5 week old from Cow & Gate first infant milk to C&G Comfort as I had concerns that she was struggling to poop due to straining a lot, especially during feeds and also showing symptoms of colic. She did pretty much calm down straight away however I have noticed that the past few days, she is passing wind really strongly, so much that I’m having to check her nappy every time because it sounds like a poop and is also now pooing every time I start feeding her. She has developed a sore nappy rash and I’m worried that it’s not normal to be pooping during every single feed. Has anyone else had this issue? Because I’ve seen some say to ride it out but she seems uncomfortable now during feeds so I am considering just going back to the original formula. Please help ):
I’ll also add that her poo changed to green which was expected but is now yellow and looks seedy, and there’s never excessive amounts. I’ve looked it up and it looks like poop from a breastfed baby but she has never been breastfed

Hello! Green poo is totally normal on comfort formula. As for the wind and poo, baby’s digestive system is probably getting used to the new milk. If it doesn’t settle within a couple of weeks then you may need to speak to GP around trialling a hypoallergenic formula where the milk proteins are even more broken down. They are only partially broken down in comfort formulas

Have you thought of changing to a different comfort formula altogether in case Cow & Gate isn't suiting her? Maybe the HIPP one?

Sounds like cmpa to me op.

Ask for a milk trial.

What is cmpa?

I have thought about that but I’m just worried that if I keep changing so soon, it’s going to make her worse altogether. I guess it may be worth speaking with my health visitor to see what advice they can give

It could be CMPA. Have a read of these symptoms and see if any are familiar.
