Fast Letdown

Do babies ever get use to fast letdown? My baby is nearly 3 months, but still struggles to feed as i think i have a fast letdown. Lots of coughing, coming on and off boob still. She does get a full feed in the end, and gaining weight fine, just it's not a relaxing feeding experience as i have to constantly reattach her back to breast. Because of this i also haven't gone out house yet as it's not exactly quiet and discreet when she is feeding which is becoming very difficult mentally.

Do babies manage feeding better with fast letdown as they get older?

My 6 month old had/has this issue. I know people recommend laid back feeding but ive never managed this comfortably, think I'm too small and baby is too big. Football hold however did make a difference.
It does get easier for them as they get older. My son is at the stage where he will only occasionally splutter a bit.
The main issue he still has is how much wind he gulps down with it. And he hates being burped in any position. Usually get 4 or 5 burps per feed over the next hour by just carrying him around and they come up naturally. (So as you can imagine night feeds are no fun but all.)

Hi! We struggled with this and I found feeding in public really hard especially as baby would come off the boob and my milk would spray out across the room! I've managed to get a few friends wet with milk and it's quite embarrassing- add into that a crying baby and I can see why it's hard to get out and about! My advice is to pop baby on and wait for the let down to start then take baby off and let the fast part of the let down spray into a muslin/breast pad. Wait for the flow to calm down then put baby back on. They should hopefully get a much calmer feed. Also try getting a deep a latch as possible as this helps to not overstimulate the nipple. Stimulated nipples create more milk and continue the cycle of fast let downs.
Good luck! And well done for getting this far! X
