Dreamfeeds

This is a really stupid question but how do you do a dream feed? DS currently goes down around 9pm will wake around 1am for a feed. I’m trying to get him to go down for 7pm and then offer a dream feed around 10pm. Do I wake him, change nappy and then offer the feed? I’m scared I’m going to wake him up too much and then he won’t settle back to sleep!

has dreamfeeding worked for you? Any advice would be great!

Would he need his nappy changing @SassyPants87?

Just rub the bottle on their lips and they'll often just take it and feed asleep. Only change a nappy if very wet or poo. Otherwise leave.

Yeah don't wake him at all or change his nappy, just rub the bottle or boob (not sure how you're feeding) on his lips and he should stir a little and take the milk in his sleep, then once finished should still be asleep and place him back down

I did dream feeds with DS just before I went to bed. Just gently picked him up and cuddled him until he came to a bit, fed him in a comfy chair in his room in the dark ( well there was a streetlight just outside so it wasn’t ever completely dark), he usually drank quite a bit fairly quickly. Then straight back in the cot after a quick cuddle. No nappy changing unless he’d done a poo, which was rare. I remember rubbing / tickling his feet through his babygro to encourage him to keep awake and drink a bit more. DS was a brilliant sleeper and dream feeding worked well for a few months.
