White Nipples (photo included)

Morning everyone,

I'm exclusively breastfeeding little one, who is 2 months old. I've had almost every problem in the book - tongue tie, cracked nipples, mastitis and abscesses! At the moment, things are about okay. However it's quite painful when baby initially latches on, and my nipples look like this sometimes. This was about 1 hour after a feed and immediately after a shower. Does anyone know what it might be? I'm wondering if it's related to the pain at all or just something that's normal and I can ignore!

Thanks all

Morning! They look like milk blebs to me. Try keeping a layer of lanisoh or similar on them and feed, feed, feed. Good luck!

Milk blister/bleb? Does it hurt?

Hello!
Could it be a sign that baby is not latching on properly?

I had similar and was told that the end of my nipple was catching between the gums and my dc was mashing them between his gums. Mine looked like yours and were so bloody painful.

No idea but I wanted to congratulate you for keeping on going. Are they painful? Looks it!

I still bf ds 16mo and have had small blisters like that and sometimes can squeeze out little creamy bits but yours looks like that on an extreme level. I don't know what it is though I think I would be concerned. I hope you're not in pain?

Yeah they look like milk blebs. Lanisoh and silver nipple cups helped me, you can gently exfoliate them in the shower too. And lots of feeding so they don't build up.

Thanks everyone!
It isn't painful except when baby first latches on. I've noticed he's also sliding off the breast more often than usual, so could be latch related.
I wasn't sure about milk blebs, because when I tried to pick it / pull it out they felt soft and lost their form (stayed there and stayed white though!), whereas I've had a bleb before which was pretty solid! I'll treat as if it is for now though, lots of lanisoh, silver cups and feeding

Could it be thrush? Any sign on baby? It's been some years since I breast fed but I still remember the pain of the latch with that!

Have you had baby rechecked for tongue tie. My children had to have it recut. My third baby was cut 3 times and needs it done again.
