EBF baby crying ALL THE TIME

Hi all.

I have an almost 8 week old who is EBF. My eldest was dairy intolerant so I went dairy free when DD2 was 2 weeks old. Despite this, she is SO windy, struggles to pass it and struggles to poo. She sharts a lot (if you know what I mean...). She is gaining good weight and seems otherwise healthy BUT

I kid you not, if she isn't sleeping, she is crying 98% of the time- usually starts just after a feed. She even cries whilst feeding. I just don't know what else to change in my diet. Her poos (when they aren't sharts) are mucusy but I've been told that can be normal for EBF babies. She comfort feeds a LOT. We've already had her tongue tie divided.

Not sure if this is relevant but she had antibiotics when she was born for a couple of days.

Would appreciate any advice. I have a 2 year old who I literally am unable to give any time to because my newborn is crying all day and will not be put down. I'm at a loss. Or just tell me it gets better? Need some hope

Sounds like my DS, he has silent reflux! Which was made worse by his tongue tie reattaching! So I would check his tongue tie again

Yep silent reflux.

Yes could be silent reflux. My first was like that. It’s really hard. They used to give ranitidine for it but I think it’s omeprazole now.

My daughter was similar and I had high lipase. I think that's how it's spelled. It basically means that she was getting too much foremilk and not enough hindmilk as I had an oversupply and she didn't like to drink a lot at once, preferred snacking. So only got foremilk. I had to feed from just one side for a few hours then swap sides to make sure she was getting hindmilk.
