How long after stopping BF/having your baby did it take for your milk to dry up?

OK, sorry if this is a weird question, and I am not sure that this is the right place but... How long did it take for your milk to dry up completely?
4 months on and I am still producing several drops of milk if I squeeze or press my nipples . Shouldn't this have stopped by now? Reason I am worrying is that I am trying to get pregnant again and still producing milk probably isn't helping.

I still have milk and my two are 5 and 3 and I didn't bf for longer than 2 weeks. Sorry!!!!

MillyH - has AF returned yet?

LilRedWG · 04/02/2008 10:37

I think it's just about dried up now - 16 months after I finished feeding.

LilRedWG · 04/02/2008 10:37

Don't think it should affect you trying for another.

OK, thanks! That makes me feel less like a complete weirdo.
Yes AF has been back for all four months. It was actually a late miscarriage at 21 weeks so I didnt BF at all obviously. Hence my deep state of paranoia about my body on the moment [sigh].

(((((((hugs))))) MillyH. Sounds like you've been through a lot.

Do you chart (taking morning temps & monitoring your cervix & cervical fluid) at all? Might be worth doing so to regain a little confidence in knowing what your body is doing. I know I find it very helpful for managing my pms to know when to expect it/explain my moods etc. It will also help you pinpoint if/when you ovulate so you maximise your chances of getting pg.
