Which formula should I use?

I've been breastfeeding DS for 9 months.

He now breastfeeds on waking, after his lunch time sleep and before bedtime.

I am going to give him formula before his bedtime.

Which should I give him?

I really dont want to fight hm I really respect your posts, plus I'm too squiffy to put my point across.

hunkermunker · 02/02/2008 23:39

WW, I'm not fighting.

You'd know if I was

FAQ · 02/02/2008 23:40

still think all this xxx biotic stuff is a pile of crap......modern "scientific" marketing crap gone mad!

wildwoman · 02/02/2008 23:40

miaow!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 02/02/2008 23:43

Agree FAQ (and hunker of course )

To the OP - I would suggest you get one that is widely available - particularly in your local late night opening stores (for emergencies).

There isnt an awful lot of difference between them. That we know of......

FAQ · 02/02/2008 23:51

oh yes - I'd definitely second VVV's comment about one that is widely available in your local shop.

hunkermunker · 02/02/2008 23:54

Tesco nearest where I work usually has SMA White and SMA follow-on and no ordinary infant formula. What farking use is that?!

FAQ · 02/02/2008 23:56

a lot of use to people like me that use SMA WHite

My local One Stop (usually notoriously expensive) is actually cheaper than both boots and morrison for the above mention FF so I'm quite pleased

hunkermunker · 02/02/2008 23:57

But it's not a first choice formula, is it, FAQ? You wouldn't start a baby on that?

FAQ · 02/02/2008 23:59

no........that's true - but we did switch very early with both DS2 and 3....

hunkermunker · 03/02/2008 00:02

Please, FAQ, just agree with me that it's not ideal that any shop which sells formula at all doesn't sell whey-dominant formula as their standard "it's always on the shelves" product

FAQ · 03/02/2008 00:04

no I shan't - I was agreeing with you and then you disagreed with me first

well ok yes I guess they should at least have other 1st baby milk on their shelf too.......

ThomasTankEngine · 03/02/2008 20:55

Sorry I disappeared.

Got called away to a wet bed "emergency" and didn't get back online.

First stage sounds sensible. But isn't the followon milk designed for older babies?

Also to choose a readily available one is sensible, if there's not much between them. Thanks for the table, hunker.

My sister swears by Aptamil, but its not in my local shop. SMA seems to be evrywhere.

Thanks everyone.
