@SueVineer there is plenty of evidence of underhand marketing practices.

Formula companies in the UK sponsor all sorts of health conferences and things like bounty all of which get their brand recognition out there.

I've said many times. Formula is a life saving product and I'd love to see an unbranded, cost priced product for those mums who need it.

No shame to the mums who use it either.

Formula companies put profits ahead of babies.

The increase in gastroenteritis in formula fed babies is because of the amount of free iron in formula (necessary to enable absorption).

I'm not sure about that... I thought it was because it's a non sterile product that can easily get contaminated. You can reduce the risk of gastroenteritis by following hygiene recommendations strictly (though this is not very practical, so in practice hardly anybody does).
