Bottle refusal 3m old

Hi Mums,

Looking for help to get my 3m old take the bottle. He is EBF and I have been trying to get him to take the bottle for 3-4 weeks now. But he just doesn't seem to understand what to do with and keeps chewing on the nipple. I have a 3y old as well so was hoping if he takes the bottle it will free up some time that I can spend with the elder one. Looking for any tips , suggestions from mums who have been in similar situations.
PS- I have tried tommee tippee and nuk bottles.

Tbh, I gave up trying with my second. It wasn't worth the hassle and took less time to just feed her myself.

Eldest was ok with watching Tv or having a story while I fed.

DH would also be totally focused on the eldest when he was home.

Obviously as she got older she fed less often and I had more time to split between them.

Thank you @Twizbe !! It definitely is easier to just feed but I was hoping it would help him sleep better / longer at nights too? Not sure if it works that way but my elder one was a horrible sleeper and this one is getting close to 4m and waking up lots too. But yes if it doesn't work I will wait it out another couple months I guess. Thanks again!!

I gave up trying top but actually was delighted come 5/6 months as feeding got shorter and easier and I was delighted I'd stuck with it, the time wasted trying to get bottles to work was more stressful than actually feeding!

Sorry, I just resigned myself to not leaving the baby. He wouldn't take bottles from me or anyone else. It was tiresome at the time, but over quickly in hindsight. I was back at work at 8 months, so by then there was drinking from a cup and eating food. It's not that far away. The only people I know to get a bottle refuser to take one just refused the baby boobs until it did take a bottle 1.5 days later. No way I would do that.

Yeah, mine didn't 'get' bottles, either. The hope that baby will sleep better with bottles is sadly a myth. Hang on in there, it will get better. You're doing great, by the way.

It's a total myth that bottles help them to sleep. It's just one of the many things put out by formula companies to try to get women to stop breastfeeding.

I had to miss a couple of feeds till baby was ravenous. They soon take the bottle when nothing else is on offer

OP my DD1 took a bottle around 5 months. We'd given up around 2 months, but one random day we decided to try again and she took it!

DD2 is 12 weeks and I made the mistake of establishing breastfeeding before giving a bottle as she didn't latch as easily as DD1 did. Now she refuses the bottle.

It's annoying cause I'd love to leave her for a couple of hours every now and then.
