Nursing strike 6 weeks

Hi. My DD2 is currently on week 4 of her nursing strike. She will only take a bottle after struggling to latch. We think that she has colic and reflux. She is 11 weeks and we just discovered last week she has posterior tongue tie (it was missed previously) can anyone offer any advice / success stories on getting their little ones back
to the breast. Was snipping the tongue tie worth while? TIA x

Definitely need to work with an IBCLC to get them latching, sounds like they now have a bottle preference - make sure you pace feed the bottles, assume you are pumping?
once tongue tie is snipped they should help you get them latched.

Oh and the colic/reflux is likely due to taking in extra air from the tongue tie - hopefully will help with that too.

Thank you so much for your reply! She currently just screams on the breast so just doing lots of skin to skin at the moment. Looking at getting it done privately with a lactation consultant. Yes currently pumping so she has the smell and taste of my milk. Just praying that she will latch back on after being off for so long. Just wish I knew about all of this earlier. X

You’re supply should be fine then if you’re pumping, hard work but good - maybe nipple shields might be a good half way - but a good IBCLC will be invaluable and will help once tongue tie is sorted.
the support in hospital is pretty poor, moat aren’t trained in lactation and they just want you out (not staffs fault either, it’s just underfunded!).
