Clamping down ... ouch!

OK so this is baby number 3, I should be an old pro by now but my kids have big age gaps and although I breastfed all 3 I can't for the life of me remember going through this, to this extent, with the older two.

Dd is 20 weeks and for the last couple of weeks has been "biting" or at least clamping those hard little gums tight while breastfeeding, recently escalating to pulling her head to the side so nipple is stretched and pinched 😬

I usually say ouch! (Because you know it hurts 🤷‍♀️) and tell her no, but she thinks it's hilarious, no joke if she doesn't flash that delighted little cheeky grin then it's a full on chuckle. As adorable as her smiles and laughs are, my nipples can't take much more of this. I tend to stop feeding everytime for a few minutes hoping she associates the biting with the interruption and she'll stop doing it but it's kinda become a fun game to her 🙄 like peek a boo, she knows I'm going to give it back to her & she'll do it again. At first I thought maybe she just wasn't hungry but she soon convinced me otherwise (wee tears and all) so it's kinda become this weird cycle and feeds are taking ages.

Any advice on what else I could try or will she simply just have to grow out of it?

That sounds painful op! My daughter has been feeding, then looking away still attached. Could it be that she's doing that? I've been popping a muslin over her head while feeding so she can't see anything to cause a sudden turn of her head.
