Weaning when poorly

Dd is 6.5 months and we were just starting weaning. However she's been poorly for a week with diarrhoea. We've seen a doctor who isn't too concerned as she's no temperature, dehydration and is otherwise well. I haven't been weaning her while she's been like this as I didn't want to irritate her stomach more if it's a bug. But I'm now wondering if we should just crack on? Does anyone have any ideas of good starter foods to try that won't bother her too much? She has CMPA so it's got to be dairy free for now.

I’d wait until fully better personally. We started with blended veg, start with the bitter tastes I was encouraged to do.

If she's well in herself and the Dr isn't concerned I'd try something like banana or sweet potato which can help to "firm things up" Wink

At this age you only usually offer once a day anyway so you could try breakfast or lunch time. I wouldn't try the evening in case the food makes her worse.

Me and dh were arguing over this - I said banana helps diarrhoea, he thinks it's one of those things that clears you out...

If weaning babies are constipated you're often advised to avoid banana, rice and sweet potato. You could try one of the other two if you're arguing?
