9 month old won't BF

My DD will be 9 months in a few days and for the last 6 days won't BF from me as she normally does first thing in the morning and last thing at night. I pump 4 times during the day as I work full-time and used to enjoy these times with her and made me feel that BF was still so worthwhile but if she won't even feed from me those two times I just feel like a human cow Does anyone have a clue why she would be doing this?

Thanks.

not sure if thats it, she will drink my milk from the bottle. Also, she does suck for about 3/4 minutes but thats it. Its not because I've got a slow letdown either because I don't. When I try to put her back on after the 3/4 minutes she just laughs and arches her back away

Mikafan
We stopped BF at 10 months & 11 months with DS's perhaps a nursing strike that Motherhurdicure suggested but I had never heard of such a thing so after 2 days of DS's refusing to feed even though nothing else had changed Dh offered a bottle and DS1 downed 8oz.

DS1 then had 6 weeks of formula before moving onto cows milk DS2 longer.

Sorry can't be more help but the phrase leading a horse to water and not being able to make it drink comes to mind.

Good luck!

I had exactly the same thing at 9 months ish. I took lots of Fenugreek tablets to boost my milk supply and help with my slow letdown, and experimented with different holds and he settled down again in the end and bf happily for another few months. Persevere if you can, it's worth it.

Thanks AJ but a lack of milk isn't the problem in my case so don't need a boost in that area I pump 4 times a day anyway and have no had to add an additional pump first thing in the morning as thats when she'd normally feed from me.

motherhurdicure - she won't feed from both sides. She'll feed from one side, come off, try to put her back on that side - she laughs and arches her back, try her on the other side she smiles and arches her back.
