I’m getting really worried about her. She’s fine in herself but so strange for her to not feed. I’ve been trying all night as she’s been really wakeful but she would just do tiny little sucks, not enough to induce letdown. Just tried again and she’s feeling “silly” so popping off the boob, looking around at everything, touching everything with her arms and legs. I’m in a dark calm room so doing my best to reduce distractions!

I’ve been really unwell overnight with a fever, vomiting. Daddy has had to take today off work as there’s no way I can look after the baby. He keeps bringing her to me to feed but no luck. I even tried using a breast pump to induce letdown and then pop her on but she was not interested.

Shes doing really well on weaning- 3 meals a day but only takes a few sips of water if that from a cup as she prefers to wash her hands in it.

How is she in herself? How are her nappies?

MrsTimRiggins · 14/10/2022 08:45

Might she be feeling sick as well? What’s the nappy situation?

is there any chance she’d take a bottle?

she’ll probably right herself soon enough but I understand the worry.

Nappies?
Temperature?
Keep offering her breast and water?
Don't worry about food but try her with some every so often
If you are worried call the GP

If she's fine in herself and her nappies are wet then I really wouldn't worry OP! Their tastes and interests change when they start trying new foods. Could also be that she's more full from her solids and just needs and wants less milk. Teething may also be having an effect. She'll take the milk when she wants it, I wouldn't force it. Just give plenty of purées as they have a high water content and sips of water as you have been doing to keep her hydrated. Close eye on her nappies and just relax!

Nappies definitely less full that they usually are over the last few days. But pooing 3 or 4 times a day which has been normal for her since weaning.

just tried again and she has fallen asleep but still no letdown! Just tiny little sucks and popping on and off.
