Anyone listening to LBC today, just after 2pm?

I heard you!!! You are quite assertive aren't you?

handlemecarefully · 25/01/2008 23:59

yes, we are often mistaken for the same person on account of our similar posting styles

hunkermunker · 26/01/2008 00:08

Did you, MrsR?! Ooh! Assertive, surely not

mrsruffallo · 26/01/2008 00:13

I thought it was fab, well done. The most interesting thing that's been on LBC for along time

hunkermunker · 26/01/2008 00:29

Thank you! Some really sad stories on there too - terrible experiences. The woman whose email was read out just before I was on who was told she should stop crying because she could have another one when she was miscarrying on a ward - grim

just found the blog
FWIW I do think there are more breastfeeding working mothers than most people realise!

hunkermunker · 26/01/2008 00:52

I hope so, 1dilemma! Actually, I think you're right - I know several women who've bf and worked and not really said anything about it to anybody (I ferret them out with leading questions ). The blog's about more than bf and working though

I've just updated the blog with this post

oh I will listsen later and let you know Hunker (and agree, Alison Bell was SHITE)

1dilemma · 26/01/2008 01:58

Nice blog fancy links thanks for posting the mat service figures shocking figures for London (I think the hospitals are overwhelmed birth rate keeps going up and they aren't able to cope-not excusing them just adding a POV).
Sorry I missed your radio bit would be interested to hear the being sacked for breastfeeding bit how was that justified it was radio, not like disgusted of Tunbridge wells would have known seems like great multitasking!

mrsruffallo · 26/01/2008 08:19

I have met so many women whose birth experiences have shaped their first few months of motherhood/bonding. We have to unite and demand changes!
A brand new birthing centre has opened at the end of my road- aren't many in my borough or London as a whole and it sounds marvellous. Maybe this type of thing is the way forward. The GP who really pushed the project insisted on birthing pools in each room and they have facilities for dp/h to stay over. I am thinking about dc3 just because I want to try it there!

Twinklemegan · 31/01/2008 00:50

welliemum · 31/01/2008 02:28

I have these shiny new ears and need to exercise them!

MrsJohnCusack · 31/01/2008 05:03

I don't think I have your email address - will try and CAT you if you accept them

welliemum · 31/01/2008 07:26

Oooh, would you really? Am CAT-able

MrsJohnCusack · 31/01/2008 07:39

I have catted you

hunkermunker · 31/01/2008 17:30

Ooh!

I do sound young on that clip. I can assure you I am haggard in rl though

I laughed at her saying I sounded like I knew what I was talking about - was I a health professional?

Interesting programme, but SO depressing - some of the stories those women told

Miaou · 31/01/2008 17:43

Ooooh hunker you clever thing!!! I bet you sounded great - you've got a good "radio" voice you know, I have thought that before

Could you do a transcript and add it to your blog? (Mind you, six minutes would make that pretty long!)

And bloody well done girl

welliemum · 01/02/2008 03:12

Awesome! Thanks so much MrsJC!

Have listened about 100 times and can now say, good points well made Hunker!

Phew, listening without lipreading is HARD work.... [exhausted]
