Possible over feeding at 5 months as huuuge vomit in evenings?

I can only think that DS is over feeding as he’s never sick the rest of the time but how do I gauge it? He’s EBF and always been easy but recently then empties his entire full stomach all over his clothes and the sheets and I can’t always see it coming? For example earlier in the day he’d drink the same amount and be fine. He isn’t too distressed and generally so cheerful and happy .

Hes a very efficient feeder and is huge and I wonder if it’s just too much milk triggering it?

Is he easy to wind? My children were terrible for holding onto wind at that age, and this would sometimes lead to milk being brought back up.

Are these feeds when he’s fully awake? What time are we taking? At At 7m my DD did this a couple of times when I put her to bed with a feed at 7pm and then fed her again at 10ish to settle her if she woke. She would feed in a very sleepy state but take loads of milk. I think she just used to take more than her stomach could hold because she was half asleep and really seeking comfort, but was an efficient feeder at that point. I had to introduce a new “policy” that after bedtime, I didn’t BF her again unless it was after midnight, to give her stomach some time to empty. Cuddles only!

And yes for the thorough winding.

Gosh that is so helpful - that sounds exactly what i did wonder and I am grateful as hadn’t known of this for sure but it was my guess and literally it feels like his whole (large) stomach contents come out again including through his nose. (I’ve got slightly better at racing as fast as I can to the bathroom sink with him as the volume is so large and I feel relieved it doesn’t upset him too much . )
the feeds are just before he goes to sleep for the night about 8ish and he too is an amazingly efficient eater. I will try and stop feeding him after a much shorter feed and see how that goes . He’s never sick the rest of the time so it seems all or nothing . Thank you .

Wind isn’t usually a problem but occasionally it can be and especially in the evening so I will keep an eye on that as useful to check that too. I did just wind him and he didn’t Seem to need it tonight.

Is it around bedtime? Does he feed to sleep? How long do you leave it between a feed and laying him down? I had two babies with bad reflux and I couldn't lay them flat for about an hour after feeding. Otherwise it came straight back up.

I'm also wondering if there is something you eat in the evenings that doesn't agree with him.

Yeah the nose thing sounds familiar, like a little milk fountain? Poor you!

Oh yeah we had that a few times,
don’t worry it’s just one of those things, you can’t over feed a bf baby!
